Don't know why, but I fancy the idea of a trip there.

Re: Luxembourg
Jean-Claude Junker got himself a reputation by leading Luxembourg into becoming a tax haven and making it a wealthy city.

Now he wants to bolt the door to tax fiddling international companies after 20 years of getting them into Luxembourg with cheap taxes....

Lovely place - been there a lot - quite well to do as you'd expect ... a very secure population largely due to government investment (a lot) in the family - friends I know have 3 sprogs and for each the Mum was paid over 6k to spend time at home rather than pressured into working due to financial concerns.

Re: Luxembourg
Luxembourg is actually quite nice. You just need to give the city a swerve and head into the Ardennes.

In ten years of rock and roll truck driving I have only done two gigs there .

Katie meluia in 2010 was in a fantastic monastery that used to be a prison in the 1500s

Queen and Paul Rodgers was in a disused quarry

No idea where this is going.

I was there for a techno night with Bristol techno mob Shimmy in the mid 90s. After being up all night we were in a bar and saw in someone's newspaper that Diana had died in Paris. Bad vibes man. Bad vibes. I'd swerve

Re: Luxembourg
If you do go, then you must take in the American war cemetery, just outside the City, very quite, really well kept and very moving.

It's where over 5,000 American soldiers are buried from The last push, the Battle of the Bulge, including General George S Patton.

Its boring as fuck. The old city is tiny and boring, the rest of the city is full of glass and steel european temples to our taxpayers without saying thanks.

Juncker is from Luxembourg.

If you go there, burn it down please.

The capital is a really nice place for a weekend. There's a fair bit to see and it's a pretty place. A couple of nice squares to sit and eat/drink on.

About half an hour away on the train is Sebastien Schemmel's brasserie, Upton Park. He's often there and is a very nice bloke, although he didn't think that Payet would make it in English football.
